While everyone else is busy vacationing, our church music ministry is busy with our summer music workshop. We invited interested learners for an all summer event of learning various musical instruments. We were not expecting a big turn out – so we were surprised to find that we filled up two rooms with students! Most students were interested in learning the guitar, but there were also those interested in Drums and Piano.

By God’s grace we are able to attend to all of them – thanks to the efforts of our team. Although tiring and time consuming, I take comfort in knowing that somehow these students will become more aware of the arts – specifically music – and hopefully also find the connection to the Ultimate Source of music who I’m sure is busy watching over their shoulders.

I was hooked so I decided to make a quick video recording. I was supposed to upload a video, but uploading has been real slow due to my ISP. I decided to extract the audio and upload the smaller audio version to soundcloud.

Here is an old, old video of me playing “Bold as Love”. Enjoyed this one because it turned out OK even when my son almost stopped me in the middle of the song. This video was even featured for a few months at a local radio station’s website (RX 93.1).

I enjoyed jamming with my favorite up-and-coming band – X2M – who happens to be among my songwriter friends. The marketing label “New Manila Sound” fits their music well.<--more--> After a quick rehearsal, we met and played three songs at UR Radio. If you haven’t heard of their songs yet, you are surely missing out on new OPM!

I wrote this song a year ago but being the procrastinating writer that I am, it took me a year before I finally sat down to complete it and record a demo.

Jam 88.3 and Dig Radio Promotion

Last August 6, 2011 – I helped promote the coming 2nd Elements National Singing and Songwriting Camp. The mentor that played for both events was the incredibly talented Mr. Jay Durias, and we also had Mr. Noel Cabangon for the interview at Jam 88.3.

Jay and I did a quick impromptu jam of my song – “Move it Up” and then followed it with SouthBorder’s “Tulog” at both venues. I really enjoyed the extended instrumentals and its amazing being able to play with such talent.

A friend uploaded a video clip of the jam, it is also available on my video page.
